This initial conversation is an opportunity to give me some details about yourself and your reasons for seeking counselling. From this, I can assess your requirements and discuss the best way forward for you. Plus you can ask any questions you may have, get a sense of me as a counsellor, and decide if you would like to work with me.

Our first appointment will be arranged, which can be face to face or via an online platform. This appointment will be an initial assessment where I would get some details from you. 


This will also give us time to discuss how we are going to work together therapeutically and tailor your counselling to your individual needs, emotions and expectations.


My role as a counsellor is to listen carefully, support with exploring your thoughts and feelings. I am not there to tell you what to do or give you advice. 


By building a trusted therapeutic relationship, I will help you to work through difficult emotions, thoughts and experiences. This will help you to build resilience, independence and improve your mental health.


I am a very down to earth counsellor and believe in the BACP (British Association Counselling and Psychotherapy) ethical framework and I follow their professional codes of conduct with clients.
